By spending your money in any way you like at these businesses on this day, a portion of proceeds will go towards this non-profit. Founded in 1977, Raphael House of Portland is the largest domestic violence shelter in Multnomah County.

Raphael House offers emergency shelter in a confidential location as well as transitional housing and advocacy programs to men, women, and children. They also have a 24-hour in-house crisis line, and work to bring an end to violence through community outreach and education.

You don’t have to purchase any particular dish or drink – they all count. You don’t even have to dine out actually – many of the participants also offer delivery (some via delivery services like Caviar, Postmates, etc.)  and those orders count too towards the calculation of percentage of proceeds for the day.

You can find the complete list on their website along with a map, but here’s my list that includes a few of my personal picks for a Portland quadrant. Where do you think you’ll go?

Dining out For Raphael House

Now in it’s 6th year, the annual Restaurants for Raphael House will take place next Wednesday on May 18, all day. For the event, 40+ restaurants are participating all over Portland where a portion of their proceeds will be donated towards Raphael House. All you have to do is dine out next week on Wednesday at any of those restaurants.

Founded in 1977, Raphael House of Portland is the largest domestic violence shelter in Multnomah County, and is dedicated to fighting the causes and effects of domestic violence. They offer emergency shelter in a confidential location, a 24-hour in-house crisis line, transitional housing and advocacy programs to hundreds of adults and children annually, non-residential advocacy in partnership with the Portland Police Bureau, and also work to bring an end to violence through community outreach and education. Raphael House of Portland has been providing life-saving services to families for more than 38 years.

So please, how about making plans next week on Wednesday for a bite of breakfast and coffee? Or do lunch with a significant other, family, friends or coworkers? And then in the evening, get together with friends after work, or family night out, or date night? There are many restaurants all over to choose from, so it’s so easy to enjoy a good meal and eat for a good cause to help others. Dine out several times May 18th even!

Restaurants for Raphael House dine out fundraiser on Wednesday, May 20th

Wednesday, May 20th is the 6th annual Restaurants for Raphael House dine-out fundraiser. This event is one day only where many delicious restaurants, and you as diners, can show your support for families escaping domestic violence simply by dining out at one (or more!) of a list of 25+ establishments throughout Portland and Lake Oswego. All of the eateries are donating a percentage of the proceeds (10-25% of their day’s proceeds) to Raphael House of Portland.

Restaurants for Raphael House dine out fundraiser

Founded in 1977, Raphael House of Portland is a domestic violence agency dedicated to fighting the causes and effects of domestic violence. They offer emergency shelter in a confidential location, a 24-hour in-house crisis line, transitional housing and advocacy programs, non-residential advocacy in partnership with the Portland Police Bureau, and also work to bring an end to violence through community outreach and education. Raphael House is the largest domestic violence shelter in Multnomah County. Annually, Raphael House provides 10,000 safe nights for women and children in their emergency shelter and support as many as 5,000 callers on their 24/7 crisis line.

It’s so easy for you to help this valuable cause and support this local agency. Just find a participating restaurant that is convenient to you and dine out! With so many on the list with different cuisines, you will probably find a place that can fit your food preferences. Keep in mind that every $100 that the fundraiser is able to raise during the event will provide one night in our shelter for someone.

So take your family, or go on a friend date. Order generously anything you want from the menu, all food and drink, and any time the participating restaurants are open (so all DAY in many cases), it all counts!
