My summer stitch fix was a great box – I thought it really provided pieces that fit my personal style, and the only reason I didn’t keep the entire box were nitpicky things and also because I LOVE summer dresses and additionally have purchased like a dozen other summer tops and dresses already – and it just turned June.
I am not sponsored or paid in anyway to share this box: I just really enjoy how the service provides me great clothing statement pieces that I always get compliments on and are unique instead of what everyone can find at the same stores locally.
If you haven’t heard of Stitch Fix before, Stitch Fix is a styling subscription service personalized for you. You go online and they ask you questions about your preferences in style and price points. You can put together a Pinterest board of outfit inspirations, and you can also include notes before the box is put together on what you would like. Then, based on all that, a stylist will pick out 5 pieces to ship to you that are mailed to your home for your consideration. You choose what you want to keep, and give feedback on why you liked or are returning the pieces you didn’t like so they can better improve knowing your style.
I think the fact I’ve been a member for so long and give detailed feedback on both what I keep and don’t is what has made my boxes successful. Also new to the check out process is you can ask for a new stylist or keep the one who made your box.
Ok, let’s take a look at my summer stitch fix box!
Q&A Darby Shirt Dress
What I love about this dress is that the colors are sweet and it is a lined dress of great quality. I wish the dress was a little bit more tailored because it’s a bit boxy at the top for me, but this dress was so comfy, I liked the fake button column detail on top of the pattern and colors, and this dress is something I can see wearable for several years.
Market & Spruce Dido Mixed Print Knit Top
What I love about this shirt is that it feels just like a T shirt. At a 3/4 sleeve it’s perfect for the Portland weather where it’s a bit chilly in the morning and in the office but I can roll them up further and keep them up with the tab later in the day.
Donna Morgan Drew Dress
I usually am a huge fan of the Donna Morgan brand, and this dress felt slinky and comfortable and I loved the cut by the neck and shoulders. The minus though is that this is a more slim fit dress which made me self conscious about my stomach area, and given the $118 price tag of the dress which I knew could buy multiple other dresses for the summer, it was more practical to return it even though I liked it and get more other dresses instead.
Pixley Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan
I love the pockets of this Pixley Martina Slub Knit Open Cardigan, but when I removed it from the box and saw all the wrinkles, I knew I was going to return this right away. I get cold easily – and it can get chilly in the office or in the morning – so I have lots of cardigans and hoodies I wear already for layers, all which don’t wrinkle so I can easily throw them in a bag or tie around my waste for later when the day warms up. I purely didn’t want to deal with the wrinkles here, even with the big deep pockets and how comfortable this cardigan was when I tried it.
Market & Spruce Nova Crochet Detail Tunic
This is a fun sleeveless tunic to wear on top of jeans or leggings because of it’s length, and the detail of the crochet is unique and lets me enjoy a bit of the 2017 crochet trend without too much. It also is a great layering piece that I could see under a cardigan or jacket the rest of the year.
What do you think of these pieces, have you heard of Stitch Fix before or any of these brands? What is your summer style? If you are interested in trying it, check out Stitch Fix here using my referral link. My main advice for getting a good box is don’t be afraid to give honest feedback on what you like and don’t like and their database gets better as you go. Searching and requesting pieces in other Stitch Fix boxes (such as reading recap and reviews like this one) also help figure out what might be in their racks!
I find Stich Fix to be so full of hits and misses. It’s took bad that first dress didn’t work for you because it is by far my favorite item from your fix.
I was sooo torn on keeping the dress, but since I just went on a shopping spree buying half a dozen other dresses I tried to be reasonable with my wardrobe spending for the season!
I’ve nver tried Stitch Fix, but I keep hearing good things about the service. I’ll bet that Donna Morgan Drew Dress looks wonderful on you!
Thanks, I thought the stylist did a great job picking out items I would like and that would flatter me
I love that last top! I also love the pink of that first dress. I’m not brave enough to try Stitch Fix!! 😛
