Stitch Fix Winter 2018 Box

Today I’m letting you take a look at my Fix #25 from my Stitch Fix. I am not sponsored or paid in anyway to share this box. If you haven’t heard of  Stitch Fix before, Stitch Fix is a styling subscription service personalized for you. You fill out information upfront and after each box so the stylists at Stitch Fix know what you like and don’t like. At a schedule you determine, and based on any requests you make, a box of 5 clothing items shows up to refresh your closet without having to go out shopping and you try everything at home in real lighting on your time.

A $20 styling fee is charged, but that same $20 is deducted from the cost of the items you keep. Plus, if you keep the whole box of 5 items you get a significant discount – 25% off the cost of everything in addition to the $20 credit from when Stitch Fix first styled you. Shipping is free both ways. As they get to know your preferences they really dial it in – I know they give me clothes I get compliments on and are unique. So without further ado, here’s my review for my Stitch Fix Winter 2018 Box.

Pistola Audrey Moto Detail Skinny Pant

Once again I’m not sure how Stitch Fix always seems to be able to find pants that fit me. These skinny pants are the right length even though I’m only 5’2″, and they pull up and zip and button fine with no weird extra material or tight spots in the crotch or back waist. I’ve seen some sort of pant like this stalking me on Facebook already and been tempted, and I guess the stalking is now complete that this pair got inside my house.

The color is really different then what I normally wear at a grey/olive color, instead of the usual black, dark blue/denim, or dark red pants I have, and the pattern detail really makes it stand out as well. The material is thicker, almost like jeans. It’s weird that sometimes you can sorta see the green, but otherwise it passes easily as grey depending on the light.

Do note the ridges are all at the knee instead of slightly above, as I’ve seen on other moto styled jeans. I was not sure how I felt about this – it is better then having the horizontal lines on thigh (who wants that) so it’s nice that it draws the eye further down, while there is still some diagonal lines on the thigh area to slim it down slightly.

For $88 these moto jeans are on the more expensive side – I’ve seen moto jeans half this price but also about this price depending on brand. The price is worth it to me to not have to try on a bunch of pants at stores to get one that fits my length, and find this kind of pattern.

Absolutely Ailey Duster Cardigan

So I’m partial to Burgandy and Maroon leaning colors because they are my alma mater colors (University of Chicago). The Absolutely Ailey Duster Cardigan is super warm and also comfortable – no itchyness, and seems a tight quality knit that won’t get fuzzy. And it seems like it could layer over a lot of different pieces be they jeans or a skirt (ha ha I’m sorta in love with the boots one styling suggestion offers).

The only minus is that it is a duster length, and I always wonder how weird it looks when it shows so much farther past my coat during winter weather where I can’t wear this by itself. $44.

DM Collection Marlow Jersey Shirt Dress

I soooo wanted to keep this dress, as I love the pattern and the dress made my butt look great and it was a very comfortable material. At $118 it was a little bit more expensive (the most expensive item in my box).

And the biggest problem is that what I put it on, I saw right away this petite fitting dress was 4 inches above my knee – standing up. It’s just too short for me. As soon as my husband saw he, he asked if I was wearing pants with it. Sure, I can only wear this with thicker legging stockings – but not at that price, I should be able to wear it without. Soo…. back it goes to Stich Fix.

Wren & Willa Caresa Ruffle Trim Cold Shoulder Blouse

Stitch Fix Winter 2018 box review, Wren & Willa Caresa Ruffle Trim Cold Shoulder Blouse
I’ve been loving the trend in the cold shoulder style – I have several blouses and dresses with the shoulder cut out that I’ve been wearing since spring last year. The black color also really opened up how versatile this top would be to style different ways, and the material was thick (many of the tops I’ve seen have been really thin material), yet still drapey.

I loved the middle detail and the ruffles that dress up this blouse. But, when I tried it on the cut was really way too big compared to other openings I’ve seen for cold shoulder blouses – it was like almost all my upper arm. And then when I put my arms down, the sleeves went halfway down my hand – it seems like the sleeves here just weren’t right for my body. So I sent this $68 blouse back, sadly.

Truly Poppy Glorya Lace Overlay Pullover

This pullover feels like a sweatshirt in comfort, but fits in a flattering way almost like a shirt instead of a baggy sweatshirt. The black lace is on the front and back, not like some similar tops that only have detail in the front.

Did I mention how super comfortable it is? And how easy this is to dress up or dress down? I kept the pullover. It leans more on the expensive side at $74 for a top, but I wore it within the first week after unboxing this Stitch Fix box and probably will be wearing it once a week since it’s so easy, I think it will still be classic enough to wear over several years and any season, so I think the return on investment is worth it.
